By assignment: Design the Mediation Impact Award, presented annually by the Dutch Association of Mediators. The award was presented for the first time on 13 June 2017 to the late Eberhard van der Laan, then Mayor of Amsterdam, on the occasion of the Association’s 15th anniversary.

The Eberhard van der Laan Mediation Award went to Khadija Arib, President of the Lower House of Parliament, in 2018 and to lawyer Carry Knoops-Hamburger in 2019.

Art buddies project in Haarlem

In the past five years, pupils of the Auris Prof. van Gilseschool, for children with severe language development disorders and children with hearing impairments, have participated in the ‘my art buddy and me’ project.

They spend six weeks producing an artwork, working together with an artist for half an hour a week, and the artist creates an artwork for them in return.

Due to their language disorder problems, the pupils work one-on-one with the artist, which makes it extra special to create a 2 or 3D-artwork together. You can see some of the results below.

Chef's Dinner
Charity evening with a culinary fête organised by Tecs International in De Lichtfabriek, Haarlem.
Proceeds go 100% towards the shelter for the women of Abayashram. With the auctioning of paintings by Bert Liefveld and Liesbeth Jimmink. The paintings are on view at Van Duivenboden Home Furnishings, Gedempte oude Gracht 88, Haarlem. www.tecsinternational.org
